Study Guide: Understanding the 6th Case (Lokál)
Locative Case Prepositions and Practical Usage
The Locative case (6. pád) is the only case that cannot stand alone. This vocabulary list focuses on the prepositions that trigger the Locative and the nouns you need to describe your home and daily surroundings.
Your Living Space:
Learn the rooms (ložnice, koupelna, pokoj) and common objects (zrcadlo, postel, okno). This is the best way to practice the diverse endings of the 6th case.
Locations & Cities:
Cities like Brno change their ending in the Locative (v Brně). This is also true for outdoor spaces like pláž (na pláži).
The HáCZech Learning Path:
- ✔ Step 1: Memorize the prepositions v (in), na (on), and o (about).
- ✔ Step 2: Note that for masculine/neuter, the ending is often -ě/e, -u, or -i.
- ✔ Step 3: Finalize this module with the 🧠 Practice and 📝 Test links.
