Study Guide: Understanding the 3rd Case (Dativ)

Dative Case Prepositions and Practical Usage

The Dative case (3. pád) is the social case. It allows you to describe interactions between people and your own subjective states (feeling, liking, age).

Recipients & Communication:

Verbs like půjčit (to lend), poradit (to advise), and říkat (to tell) must have their recipient in the Dative.

Useful Prepositions:

Practice k (towards), díky (thanks to), and kvůli (because of). These help explain reasons and directions in daily life.
