Active Recall: The Indirect Object & Recipients
The Dative case answers the question Komu? Čemu? (To whom? To what?). It is essential for communication verbs like "telling," "writing," and "calling."
Recipients and Gifts:
Whenever you give a gift (dárek) or write a message, the recipient must be in the Dative. Note the masculine endings: -ovi or -u.
Personal Expressions:
In Czech, you don't "have" an age; age is "to you." Practice Je mi 20 and Líbí se mi to to sound like a natural speaker.
Optimization Strategy:
- ✔ Step 1: Learn the feminine shift from 'a' to 'e' (maminka → mamince) and 'e/i' endings.
- ✔ Step 2: Use the preposition k / ke (towards) to practice movement toward people or places.
