The Four Major Verb Groups
This middle-level assessment ensures you can accurately apply the endings for the most common verb classes. It’s the bridge between simple repetition and full fluency.
Verb Types Included:
- Dělám Group (-at): The most straightforward regular pattern.
- Rozumím Group (-ět/-it): Verbs ending in long -ím.
- Piju/Studuju Group (-ovat): Changing the infinitive to the -uje- stem.
Common Pitfalls:
Watch out for the "Oni" (They) forms—these are often the most difficult to remember correctly in the -e and -í groups.
Study Tips:
- ✔ Check the Stem: Look at the infinitive before you conjugate. Does it end in -ovat? Switch to -uj-.
- ✔ Pronouns: The ending tells you who is doing the action. You don't always need já, ty, on..., but the verb must match!
- ✔ Timer: 10 minutes. This level tests your speed in recognizing which group a verb belongs to.
