The Nuance of Motion
At the hard level of A1, we test your precision. Many prefixes describe movement, but only one fits the specific context of the sentence. This test focuses on verbs of motion (jet, jít, nosit) and their prefix transformations.
Prefixes Tested:
- Od- / Vy-: Leaving vs. exiting/starting a trip.
- Pro- / Pře-: Going through vs. crossing over.
- U- / Do-: Getting away vs. reaching a destination.
Why it's Hard:
The sentences provide specific clues. You must look for prepositions like z, do, přes, or od to find the matching prefix.
Strategy for Success:
- ✔ Visualize the Motion: Imagine a 3D space. Is the person entering, leaving, or just passing by?
- ✔ The Prefix-Preposition Link: Often, the prefix "mirrors" the preposition (e.g., vejít do, vyjít z).
- ✔ Timer: 10 minutes. Prefix choices require logic, so use your time to analyze the full context of the sentence.
