The Complete Grammatical System

At the hard level, you are expected to navigate the full logic of the Czech case system. This means recognizing which case is triggered not just by prepositions, but by specific verbs and social situations (like the Vocative).

Advanced Cases Included:

  • 2. Genitiv: Possession, quantity, and prepositions like do, z, od.
  • 3. Dativ: The indirect object and verbs like pomáhat, rozumět.
  • 5. Vokativ: Addressing people correctly by name or title.
  • 7. Instrumentál: Means of transport and "with" (s/se).

Plurality & Gender:

Watch out for Masculine Animate vs. Inanimate distinctions, which are vital for correct declension in the Accusative and Genitive.

Rules for Success:

  • Identify the Verb: Some verbs have "baked-in" case requirements (e.g., ptát se + Genitive).
  • Preposition Check: Always look at the word immediately preceding the noun. Is it k? Use Dative. Is it bez? Use Genitive.
  • Timer: 10 minutes. This level requires fast mental processing of grammatical categories.
