Practicing Dám si... is the best way to learn the Accusative. Note how voda becomes vodu and rýže becomes rýži, while pivo stays the same.
People and Relationships:
When expressing feelings, the person being loved or liked moves into the 4th case. This is where you see the important -a ending for animate masculine nouns like Petra.
Optimization Strategy:
